Gong Fu - CD Music for Chinese Martial Arts

In Chinese Gong Fu (Kung Fu) novels and movies, the personalities of the characters and their weapons always correspond to each other. To me, this is the most fantastic part of Gong Fu: the true key of Gong Fu lies in one's mind. To master a martial art is to master one's mind, and therfore, 'mind' has become my major concern.

In fact, Chinese love Gong Fu so much; not just because of physical benefits, but also because of their hope to achieve a state where they are one with heaven. As in the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", the protagonist aims at Tao throughtout the story, claiming that one's mind is the key to mastering Gong Fu. A Gong Fu master cam control his movements with quietness and defeat chaos with lucidity for he knows his heart lies in the Tao.

In the making of this album, I added various sound effects of swords and cudgels to enhance the feeling of immediacy. I hope listeners can not only enjoy an audio feast of Chinese Gong Fu, but also experience the truth of Gong Fu in which heaven and man are one. - From the Composer Mr. Zhao Xi.
