This book contains four Chinese Folktales. The first, called "The Fox Borrows the Tiger's Awe" is a fable about a Fox who does some quick thinking in order to escape the jaws of the tiger. The second story, "A Fight of No Fight" is about a boy who overcomes his brothers temper by perseverance. The third, "A Rich Man in Jail" shows a man who is trapped by his wealth, and the fourth "The Trick of Gold" is about a boy who learns the real depth of knowledge.
All these stories are based upon the oral folktales of China and contain strong moral messages. The drawings are original Chinese water paintings and the stories are retold by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming.
